David B. Test of Dunkirk, NY died Saturday morning, July 22, 2023, at home. He was born Sept. 10, 1947 in Fredonia.
He is the son of the late Marjorie and William Test. He was a 1967 graduate of Brocton High School. He served two years in the US Army including a one year tour in Vietnam. After serving in the Army, he was employed by Special Metals of Dunkirk and retired after 39 years.
He was a volunteer member for the Brocton Fire Department for 14 years and is an Exempt Fireman. His memberships include lifetime memberships to the Vietnam Veterans of America of Frewsburg, NY, and the VFW Post 6390 of Sheridan, NY. Additionally he was a member of the American Legion Post 62 of Dunkirk.
David enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, old cars, and car shows, putting together model cars, crossword puzzles, fishing, gaming, traveling, and watching westerns.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 28 years, AnnMarie (DiPalma) Test. His brothers, Richard Test of Dunkirk and Ernest Test of Kentucky. Four children, Denise (Matthew) Hitzges, Larissa (Philip) Vallett, Lucas (Katie) Hall, and Chad Test. Additionally, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta J. Test; his sister, Marjorie Bannister of Portland, NY; and his three brothers, Ronald Test of Brocton, Raymond Test of Portland, and Robert Test of Dunkirk.
At David’s request, funeral services will be private with no prior visitation. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheridan, NY. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
