Marjorie A. Snyder

Marjorie A. Snyder (nee Nolan) “Margie” of Dun-kirk, NY formerly of Williamsville/ Clarence, NY, died May 18, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the amazing mother of Karen (James) Caruso and Michael (Vickie) Snyder. Loving “Nanni” of Courtney Lindsey, Caitlin (Tanner) Goldsberry, Trevor Snyder, and Brenna Snyder. Sister of Mary Lou Meegan and the late Ronald (Judy) Nolan. Margie was predeceased by her husband Eugene in 1989 and is survived by many nieces and nephews, and special friend Joseph “Joe” Castiglia of Florida and his children.

Margie graduated from Kensington High School in 1953. She married “Gene” in 1956 and they resided in Buffalo. They were blessed with their daughter Karen in 1963 and son Michael in 1964. The family lived in many towns within western New York, due to the nature of Gene’s job with National Fuel Gas. They settled in Fredonia in 1977, where Margie worked for the school district until their final move to Orchard Park in 1988. Upon Gene’s death, Margie moved to the Williamsville/Clarence area, where she resided until 2015. It was at that time she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to care for herself, and she moved to Dunkirk to live with her son. Her final years were spent with the staff at Heritage Village, where she was part of their family.

Margie’s greatest joys in life were her children and being “Nanni” to her grandchildren.

There will be no service per Margie’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Heritage Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Gerry, NY. Arrangement by McGraw Kowal Funeral Home, Dunkirk, NY.
