Kathleen M. “Kathy” Guest, 75, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away March 19, 2022, at Buffalo General Medical Center following a brief illness.

Kathy was born on Oct. 13, 1946, in Dunkirk, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Kinney) Guest. 

She attended St. Joseph’s School in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1965. Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Church her entire life and had served as a eucharistic minister. She was also a past president of the American Legion Post 59 Auxiliary and currently held the office of chaplain.

She was devoted to her family and her kitties. She was kind and thoughtful and will be remembered for making dozens of prayer shawls over the years for anyone who was ill or in need of comfort. 

She also loved sending greeting cards to family and friends for all occasions and she also appreciated receiving them.

Kathy had been employed as a business manager for Dengler Chevrolet in Fredonia and Dodge City in Westfield.

She is survived by her two sisters: Dorothy Guest and Betty Jean (Robert) Tripp; and her brother, Thomas (Donna) Guest; her nephew, Brian (Susan) Tripp; niece, Stephanie (Eric) Deszcz; and great- nephews: Nicholas and Andrew Deszcz. She is also survived by several cousins and her kitties: Topher, Sunny, Ebbie and Annie.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Patricia Guest. Also, by her grandparents, Thomas and Dorothy Chace Kinney and Frank and Mary Grogan Guest. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, 145 East Main St., Fredonia. N.Y. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
