David P. Taber Jr

David P. Taber Jr., 54, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly Friday (Nov. 19, 2021) at home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1967, in Dunkirk, the son of David P. Taber Sr. of Fredonia and the late Kathleen (Galardo) Taber.

A resident of the area for most of his life, David was a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1985. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1985-94. David had been employed at the Carriage House in Fredonia.

Besides his father, he is survived by four sons: Robert (Tika Morgan) Taber of Dunkirk, Jayson Taber of Silver Creek, Dominick Taber of Pine Valley, and Zackary Taber of Dunkirk; one daughter, Breanna Taber of Dunkirk; one brother, Charles (Charity) Taber of Dunkirk; one sister, Ally (Steve Krystofiak) Rosing of Dunkirk; five granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. David also leaves behind a special lifelong friend, Jackie Dloniak Kucmierz.

David was proud of his time in the U.S. Navy and loved telling stories about all the places he traveled to. He served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea.

David was an avid outdoorsman. He had a great love for hunting, fishing, and camping, but was most at home riding his Harley Davidson.

Per David’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
