Peter W. Cox

Peter W. Cox, 40, of South Buffalo, formerly of Dunkirk, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021.

He was born in Dunkirk, on April 3, 1981, to Beverly Solazzo and the late David Cox.

He attended Dunkirk Public Schools.

Peter was a compassionate, caring, free-spirited individual. He embraced life to the fullest. His love and friendship were unconditional. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

He spent long hours sharing his love and interest of history with his beloved mother.

Peter’s favorite place to walk was at the Buffalo Harbor State Park. Also enjoyed cooking and spoke highly of the city of Buffalo. He often said he will always have a special place in his heart for Naples, Fl. There, he previously worked as a private duty aide for the elderly. He also worked at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk and Lakeshore Hospital. His gentle care was entrusted by all.

He was highly devoted to his faith and frequently visited Father Baker’s Basilica, where he sought comfort and peace.

Peter is survived by his loving mother, Beverly Solazzo; brother, Brian (Crystal) Cox; nephew, Brian Cox II; his beloved aunts: Kathleen Marvin, Debra (Jack) Desmond and Jacqueline Solazzo, also Lisa Muniz and Rose Strickland; uncles: William Cox and Raymond Muniz; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also, his cherished cat, Wednesday, whom he adored.

He was predeceased by his father, David Cox; his uncle, Roy Marvin; grandparents, Peter and Mae Solazzo and Maxine Muniz.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, from 1-3 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
