Darlene I. Brinkman, 69, of Sheridan, N.Y, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Darlene was born Aug. 30, 1952, in Silver Creek, N.Y. Darlene attended Forestville Central School, class of 1970.
Darlene was employed at Al Tech Specialty Steel for over 20 years. She was also employed at Pompender’s in Sheridan and Fredonia State College until her retirement in 2014.
Darlene was an active member of St John’s Unit-ed Church of Christ in Dunkirk, N.Y. She was also a member of the Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Darlene enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, traveling to Sarasota, Fla. to visit her sister, and trips to Disney World. Darlene was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, particularly her “cutie” Cole Beasley. She was also a fan of West Virginia Mountaineer football.
Darlene touched many lives and her feistiness will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Darlene’s family would like to thank the staff at Dr Sood’s oncology office for taking care of Darlene in a loving and graceful way.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Diane Deering of Sarasota, Fla. (Jeff Milli-
man); her children: Aaron (Stephanie) Brinkman of Sheridan, N.Y., and Rhon-
da (Dan) Shoup also of Sheridan; her grandchildren: Chloe Pfaffenbach, Emmie Brinkman, Tucker and Paislee Shoup; and great-grandson, Carson Crassi. She is also survived by two nieces: Andrea and Adrienne; and two great- nieces: Arianna and Andreanna. She is also survived by many loving friends.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, from 4-7 p.m. at the McGrawKowal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. in St. John’s United Church Of Christ, 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The Rev. Zoe Milliman will officiate. Burial will be in Sheridan Cemetery.
