Alice M Sutton

Alice M Sutton, 91, died Aug. 12, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, after a brief battle with leukemia.

Alice was born Jan. 2, 1930, in Dunkirk, N.Y. She was the daughter of William and Hildegarde (Tilly) Thompson.

Alice was a 1947 graduate of Dunkirk High School and a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved spending time with family and welcomed all into her home, especially on Tuesdays for coffee.

Alice is survived by her three sons: Garry (Carol), Craig (Jean) and William (Elizabeth) Sutton, all of Dunkirk; her three daughters: Lois Tworek and Carol (Chris) Brown, both of Dunkirk, and Beverly Sutton of Fredonia; her grandsons: Christopher, Craig Jr. (Karly), Kenneth, and Matthew Sutton, Jordan Kucharski and Mark Haase II; granddaughters: Debbie (Gregg) Skubis, Robynn (Adam) Benner, Beth Michalak, and Mia Haase; great-grandchildren: Noah, Taylor and Hana Skubis, Paige, Gretchen, Emaline, Chloe, Dodge, Mason and Hazel Sutton, Rihanna, Gracie and Isabella Benner; and great-great-grand-daughters: Madison and Macy Skubis.

She was further survived her beloved sister, Mary (Frank) Mirek of Dunkirk; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Sutton; her parents, William and Hildegarde Thompson; her brothers: Edward Thompson of Dunkirk and Richard (Ann) Thompson of Long Island; one sister, Pauline (Glenn) Fricke of Mayville; one son-in-law, Robert “Sookie” Tworek; two grandsons: John and Joseph Gizowski; and one grandson-in-law, Timothy Michalak.

The family would like to thank all those who have shown great kindness and care for Alice through this difficult time.

Calling hours will be held today, Aug. 16, from 3-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
