Marilyn N. (Rossiter) Graves, 88, of Fredonia,went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2021. She passed away peacefully
at home with her loving family by her side. Born Sept. 15, 1932 and raised in Brocton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late
Leslie and Margaret Rossiter. Marilyn survived her two siblings: William Rossiter (2019) and Kathryn Fredrickson (2018).
Devoted wife of 65 years to the late Herbert J. Graves (2020), she was also predeceased by her son, Douglas Graves (2010).
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Gail Graves; son, Jeff (Sue) Graves; grandchildren: Aaron (Patty) Graves, Chad (Marissa) Graves, Derek Griffith, Renee (Chad) Griffith, Daniel (Samantha) Graves, Colleen (Jason) Chilson and Shannon Graves. Also survived by great-grandchildren: Dominic Griffith, Ryan Carreras, Riley Graves, and Lyla Graves. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
Marilyn graduated from Brocton High School and Alfred College. She was a lab technician at Brooks Hospital prior to raising her children.
She was a devoted parishioner for 60 years at First United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, where she sang in the choir and donated her time for various church functions, Marilyn delivered Meals on Wheels for over 10 years in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area. Best friend of the late Marion Wykstra, both were seen riding bikes all over Chautauqua County and picnicking at various parks.
Marilyn was a warm and kind person. She spoke in a soft voice but inside she was always thinking and caring about others. Her loving spirit will be sorely missed.
Donations to Chautauqua County Hospice would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend special thanks to the whole hospice team who provided heartfelt support and quality care.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
