Theresa M. Symans (Kulpa) Age 81 of Dunkirk New York passed away peacefully Wednesday evening (March 24, 2021) at her residence in Canandaigua, New York.
Terry was born on Dec. 5, 1939 in Dunkirk, New York. She graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1956.
Following graduation, she was employed as an executive secretary for Alco. She furthered her career and became a paralegal secretary for Charles J. Hannum, attorney at law where she was a dedicated employee for 45 years.
Terry was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert H. Symans, who preceded her in death. They wed on Oct. 18, 1958 and raised their three children in Fredonia, New York. Theresa was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son Steven R. Symans and daughter in law Patty (Ovitt) Symans of Canandaigua New York; her daughter Sharon (Symans) O’Brocta and son in law Richard O’Brocta of Snyder New York; and her five adoring grandchildren Katherine (Symans) Rettura, Christopher Symans, Stephanie Symans, Molly O’Brocta, and RJ O’Brocta.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bernice Kulpa; her sisters, Delores Douglas and Rose Myers; and her loving son, John R. Symans.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dunkirk.
