Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One
Daniel Ott II

Daniel Ott II

Daniel “SUDSY” Ott II, 66, of Dunkirk, NY succumbed to his fight with cancer on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1955 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Rita (Leckliter) Ott and William F. Ott Sr.

After graduating High School Dan began an apprenticeship for Local 210 as a skilled mason and laborer. Dan spent most of his life as a laborer working hard.

Dan was an avid sports fan. He loved the Cleveland Browns, but his favorite was the New York Yankees. He would sit and watch every game he could with his family or friends arguing about the play that just happened. Earlier in his life you could find Dan out on the golf course with his sons or friends playing around of golf. One of Dan’s biggest passions was reading. He loved all types of books!

As a lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Dan was a member of many social clubs in Dunkirk. Most days his friends would find him in the same seat at the Dunkirk Falcons Club hanging out with his favorite bartender Pam while sitting with his sidekick Roy (AKA Judge).

Dan’s number one priority in life was his sons, Danny and Brian. His love for those boys was so unconditional there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. One of Dan’s greatest enjoyments was his grandchildren Dylan, Bristol, and Savannah. The smile he would have on his face when watching videos of the girls could light up a room. When at the baseball field cheering on Dylan you could always hear him yelling- GO DYLAN!

Dan had an infectious smile and would always be laughing and joking with everyone that he knew. He will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him. At the end of his shift his final words would always be “LOVE YA”.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Stephanie) Ott of Dunkirk and Brian (Courtney Ganey) Ott of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Dylan, Bristol, and Savannah; one sister, Karen (Daniel) Willis of Dunkirk; sister-in-law, Diane Ott of Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William F. “Billy” Ott Jr. and David M. “Wally” Ott.

A Celebration of SUDSY’s Life will be celebrated on Tuesday March 30, 2021 at The First Ward Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk, starting at 12 p.m. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home
