Kenneth J. Long Sr.

Kenneth J. Long Sr. 58, of Orefield, Pa., formerly of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital.

He was born June 28, 1962, in Dunkirk, N.Y. He was the son of the late Edward W. Long Jr. and Daleen M. (Benjamin) Long.

He graduated from Dunkirk Senior High School in 1980. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served from 1980-85. He was stationed in Paris Island and went on to do a tour of duty aboard the USS Eisenhower. He was honorably discharged from Camp Pendleton California as a corporal. During his time in the U.S. Marine Corps, he earned his rifle and pistol expert badge, Battle “E” Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and a good conduct medal.

Kenneth’s honors did not end there, he was a very loving family man as he was loved and honored greatly by many. He was employed by Coca Cola in Breinigsville, Pa., as a production supervisor.

He enjoyed camping, golfing, listening to music, NASCAR, shooting his guns, spending time with his family, the Buffalo Bills and his furry boys, Max and Yoda.

Somewhere over the rainbow where we will meet again. I will love you, honor you and cherish you until the very end.

Kenneth was survived by his loving wife of over 19 years, Barbara (Nosal) Long; his children: Kenneth J. Long II, (Emily Fuchs), Joseph Long (Megan McKenzie), Lauren Long Pacos (Brian Azzarella), Benjamin (Felicia) Long, Sean (Holly) Wielgasz and Brian (Melanie) Wielgasz; siblings: Edward W. III (Barbara) Long, Christopher (Ellla Lanuza) Long, Susan (Mick) Graziano and Gayle Long (Mark Warth); four grandsons; eight granddaughters; and his nieces and nephews.

Following the guidelines and protocols administered by the governor of New York family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
