Hector Luis “Magoo” Rivera, Sr. 77, of 15 N. Main St., Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048 went to be with God on Oct. 29, 2020 at University of Pittsburgh Hamot Medical Center due to Covid-19.
He was held in prayer by his nine siblings from Puerto Rico, Chicago and New York: Guito, Jorge, Diego, Noel, Miriam, Carmen, Auria, Iris, and Maria, as well as his seven children from California, Tampa, Chicago, Denver and Puerto Rico Miriam (Clint Korver), Hector, Jr. Maritza, Jorge, Joel, Gloelma (Bonilla), Antonia (Aguilar-Rivera) and the mothers of his children from Chicago and Puerto Rico Ana Castro, Doris Garcia, Inez Rivera (deceased), and his special friend Lilly Clyde of Dunkirk, N.Y. as well as her grandchildren Raul, Janessa and Jadalee. In addition to his many siblings and children, survivors include many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on Jan. 9, 1943, a son of the late Guillermina (nee Dominguez) and Osbaldo Rivera.
Following the guidelines and protocols administered by the governor of New York, family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048.
The burial or scattering of ashes will be held in Jayuya, Puerto Rico at a future time when the pandemic is behind us.
